Choose Suno if you want a free plan to start on, two takes per request, or a length setting. Choose Mureka if 12-stem splitting matters to you: it comes with Mureka Premier, while Suno's plans offer up to three split types. Suno v6 needs Suno Pro ($8/month billed yearly) or Premier, and Mureka V9.5 needs Mureka Pro or higher, at prices Mureka's page didn't show. Below, both flagships sing the same lyrics so you can hear the difference yourself.
Last checked: October 25, 2026 (official plan pages and RaoMusic credit prices).
How do Suno's and Mureka's own plans compare?
Suno and Mureka are separate web apps, each with its own account and plans. On suno.com, the free plan gives 50 credits a day on v6-mini, but no song downloads and no commercial rights; Suno v6 itself needs Pro or Premier. On mureka.ai, V9.5 comes with the Pro plan, and stems, MIDI and Mureka Studio come with Premier. The table below uses only each company's own pages, checked on October 25, 2026. Mureka's plan page did not display prices when we loaded it, so we have left its prices out rather than copy figures from resellers.
| Suno (suno.com) | Mureka (mureka.ai) | |
|---|---|---|
| Flagship model | v6, on Pro and Premier | V9.5, on Pro and up |
| Free plan | 50 credits per day, v6-mini only, no song downloads, no commercial rights | Not described on the plan page |

| Commercial use | Pro and Premier | Members get "full commercial rights" |
Suno's v6 help page says all three v6 variants support up to 8 minutes per generation. It calls v6 "the core model", with v6-wild for results further from the prompt and v6-mini as the lighter version open to all plans. Mureka's What's New page announced V9.5 on August 13, 2026. In its own 100-song evaluation, Mureka reports a 97.0% prompt-control pass rate, a 61.0% vocal pass rate and 28.0% overall usability against a 25.0% baseline. Those are Mureka's figures, not an independent test.
How did we test Mureka against Suno?
On October 25, 2026 we sent one request to each engine from a RaoMusic account with a subscription, all in Custom mode with the same original lyrics, the title "Porch Light" and the same style text: warm acoustic pop, female vocals, fingerpicked guitar, soft piano, 96 BPM. Suno also had its vocal gender option set to female; Mureka has no such option on RaoMusic. We did not set a duration on any engine, because RaoMusic offers no duration control for Mureka. The two flagships (Suno v6 and Mureka 9.5) ran back to back; the Suno v6 Mini songs come from an identical request earlier the same day. We measured credits charged, songs returned, song length and file format. We did not measure speed, check how accurately each song sings the lyrics, or run a blind listening test. The lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Gravel on the driveway, engine ticking slow
Twelve hours on the highway with the windows rolled down low
Every song on the radio was one we used to know
And every one of them was you
[Chorus]
Leave the porch light on, leave the porch light on
I can see it shining from the end of the road
Leave the porch light on, I won't be long
Keep a little warm for me, I'm coming home
[Verse 2]
Your coat is on the hook and there's a note beside the door
Says the kettle's on the stove like a hundred times before
I don't need a lot of things, I don't need anything more
Than the yellow glow that's you
The chorus repeats once more at the end, for 16 sung lines in total.
What did Suno v6 and Mureka 9.5 make from the same lyrics?
Credits are what RaoMusic charged for each request. Credits per minute divides that by the total length of the songs returned.
| Engine (version) | Subscription on RaoMusic | Credits | Songs returned | Length | Credits per minute | File |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Suno v6 | Yes | 30 | 2 | 2:01 and 2:00 | 7.5 | MP3, 48 kHz, about 180 kbps |
| Mureka 9.5 | Yes | 40 | 1 | 2:52 | 14.0 | MP3, 44.1 kHz, 256 kbps |
| Suno v6 Mini | No | 20 | 2 | 1:55 and 1:53 | 5.3 | MP3, 48 kHz, about 180 kbps |
| Mureka 9 | No | 20 | 1 | 2:39 | 7.5 | MP3, 44.1 kHz, 256 kbps |
Listen and compare. Each player below is the untouched MP3 the engine returned, labeled with its engine, version, length and settings.
Suno v6, take 1 (2:01) · Custom mode · female vocals · 30 credits for both takes
Suno v6, take 2 (2:00) · same request as take 1
Mureka 9.5 (2:52) · Custom mode · 40 credits
Mureka 9 (2:39) · Custom mode · 20 credits, no subscription
Suno v6 Mini, take 1 (1:55) · Custom mode · female vocals · 20 credits for both takes, no subscription
Suno v6 Mini, take 2 (1:53) · same request as take 1
In this run both Mureka songs came out longer than the Suno songs (2:39 and 2:52, against 1:53 to 2:01), and both Suno versions returned two takes per request. Mureka returned constant 256 kbps files at 44.1 kHz; Suno returned variable-bitrate files at 48 kHz that average about 180 kbps. File specs alone don't tell you which one sounds better.
Should you pick Mureka or Suno?
Choose by what you need to do with the song. These recommendations come from the official plan pages and from what each engine offers on RaoMusic; one test request per engine can't tell you which sounds better for your song, so listen to the takes above.
You want options to choose from: Suno. For the Suno versions shown here, RaoMusic returns two songs per request, so one request gives you two takes of your lyrics.
You want to set the song length: Suno. On RaoMusic the Suno v6 versions have a duration setting from 10 to 360 seconds (the result can still differ a little), and Suno says v6 on suno.com handles up to 8 minutes per generation. RaoMusic has no length setting for Mureka.
You want stems or MIDI on the native site: for stems alone, Suno Pro already includes two split types; MIDI needs Suno Premier, which adds a third split type and Suno Studio with MIDI. On Mureka, 12-stem splitting and MIDI and WAV exports are both on Premier.
You don't want to pay yet: Suno's free plan gives 50 credits a day on v6-mini but no downloads or commercial rights. On RaoMusic, Suno v6 Mini, Suno v6 Wild and Mureka 9 don't require a RaoMusic subscription (the native Suno and Mureka plan rules are separate), and eligible accounts in most countries get 50 free credits each month.
You expect to fix one part later: Suno. On RaoMusic, replacing a section of a song works only on songs generated with Suno.
For other engines on the same lyrics, see our ElevenLabs vs Suno comparison or the AI music models overview.
How do I compare Mureka and Suno on my own lyrics?
RaoMusic runs both engines in one editor with one credits wallet, so you can send the same lyrics to each without a second account.
Open Create, switch to Custom mode, and paste your lyrics and style.
Open the engine menu, choose Suno, then pick a version. Each version shows its credits and how many songs it returns.
Click Generate. Then switch the engine to Mureka, pick Mureka 9 or 9.5, and generate again without changing the lyrics or style.
Play the results side by side in your library. WAV downloads need a subscription and cost 4 credits per song.

Frequently Asked Questions

Suno grants commercial use rights on Pro and Premier, not on its free plan, and Mureka says its members get full commercial rights. Songs generated on RaoMusic with either engine include royalty-free commercial usage rights under RaoMusic's commercial license terms, with no subscription required. That is a usage license, not a copyright transfer; you're responsible for the rights to any lyrics or audio you provide, and uploads aren't covered.
