AI Sound Effect Generator

Turn text into sound effects

An AI sound effect generator turns a written description into ready-to-use audio — no stock library, no recording session. Describe the source, the action and the environment: footsteps on wet gravel, a sci-fi transition, rain against a window. Generate MP3 clips from 1–30 seconds, choose looping, and adjust how closely the audio follows your description. Every effect is royalty-free for commercial use.

ElevenLabs sound effects here support 1–30 seconds per generation. Enable looping if you need a repeating background.

Yes. You can browse and audition the examples without an account, and a free account starts with 50 credits. Generation costs 1 credit per second, so the free credits cover 50 seconds of audio — several clips before you pay anything.

Yes. Sound effects you generate are royalty-free for commercial projects — YouTube videos, games, podcasts, client work — including on the free plan. Royalty-free doesn't mean exclusive ownership: other users can generate similar sounds.

The Sounds tab is powered by the ElevenLabs sound-generation engine through the RaoMusic API workflow. You pay per generation with credits instead of a separate sound-effects subscription, and one credit balance also covers AI music, stem separation and the other audio tools. RaoMusic is an independent product, not affiliated with ElevenLabs.

Not directly. The generator works from a text description rather than an uploaded video. Describe what happens on screen — the action, the environment, the mood. For example: "a metal door slams shut in a concrete hallway." Then add the generated audio to your video in your editor.
