To make an anniversary song with AI, collect a few details only the two of you know (where you met, a first-date disaster, a weekly ritual, nicknames), choose a duet or one voice, and either write short lyrics or describe your story so the generator writes them. On RaoMusic, a Suno v6 duet costs 30 credits for two takes and needs a subscription; Suno v6 Wild costs the same without one.

Last checked: October 29, 2026

What are the basic steps?

Before you open a generator, write down the story details, the genre and instruments, and who should sing each section.

  1. Collect the details you want to hear sung (next section).
  2. Pick the voice setup: one singer telling your partner the story, or a duet with a male and a female voice trading lines. A standard duet uses generated voices; to hear your own, see the voice-cloning answer in the FAQ.
  3. Write lyrics or a description. Look for a lyrics box for your own words, or a description box if the tool should write them.
  4. Describe the sound in a style box: genre, tempo, instruments, voices.
  5. Generate, then check that the names and details you care about are actually sung, and generate again if not.

Two routes work well: write labelled lyrics for a duet, or describe your story and let the tool write a ballad. The examples below show both, made on RaoMusic.

What details should we put in the song?

  • How you met, as one scene: a place, a time, one thing that happened.
  • A small disaster you laugh about now, such as a burnt first dinner.
  • A ritual: the Sunday crossword, Friday dancing in the kitchen.
  • Your names or nicknames, written the way you say them.
  • Which anniversary it is. A first anniversary can be playful; the 25th-anniversary example below is a slow ballad.

Which style fits which anniversary?

The first two rows are the setups behind the examples in this guide. The last two are style lines to try; we did not test them:

How do I write a duet with one verse for each of you?

  • Give each verse to one of you. Before each section, add a label in square brackets that names the part and the singer: [Verse 1: Male], [Verse 2: Female], [Chorus: Both].
  • Write each verse from that person's side. Verse 1 here is the pink-sock laundry story from his side, verse 2 the burnt rice from hers.
  • Let the bridge trade single lines ("Priya, you still steal the blanket" / "Sam, you still can't fold a sheet"), then join for the last two lines.
  • Keep the chorus the same both times so it is easy to sing along.

Priya and Sam are a sample couple made up for this guide; the full lyrics are at the end. For more on these labels and keeping your words exactly as written, see the guide to making a song with your own lyrics.

How do I set up the duet on RaoMusic?

  1. Open Create, switch to the Custom tab (the mode where you paste your own lyrics) and pick Suno v6 in the model menu. Suno v6 needs a subscription. Without one, pick Suno v6 Wild (same price), but expect the voices to trade lines inside the verses more often.
  2. Paste the lyrics, with their section tags, into Lyrics.
  3. Describe the duet in Styles and start with the duet itself, for example: "duet vocals, male and female vocals, upbeat acoustic pop, ukulele, handclaps, harmonies on the chorus, warm and playful, 104 bpm". Keep your names out of the style line.
  4. Leave Vocal Gender under Advanced unset so one gender isn't forced on the whole song, and ask for both voices with the section labels and the style line instead. Leave Duration on Auto so the length follows the lyrics.
  5. Press Generate. The button shows 30 credits, and you get two takes.

What does the duet sound like?

Listen for which voice sings each verse and whether both names come through.

Duet · Suno v6 · Custom mode · Duration Auto

Take 1

Take 2

Take 1 runs 1:24 and take 2 runs 1:27, and both sing every line. For a longer song, add another verse and set Duration under Advanced to Custom (up to 360 seconds).

Listening note: Take 1 follows the tags: him on verse 1, her on verse 2, both on the two choruses, and single lines traded in the bridge before they join. Take 2 also gets the verses and choruses right but trades the last two bridge lines instead of singing them together. With the same lyrics, Suno v6 Wild (no subscription) mostly had the voices trade lines inside each verse. That still works for a dinner toast, but if one solo verse each matters, use Suno v6 or generate again.

How do I make an anniversary ballad from a description?

If you would rather not write lyrics, describe your story in a few sentences and let the model write them. On RaoMusic, pick MiniMax 3.0 in the model menu, stay in Simple mode, leave Instrumental off and type the story into Song Description. MiniMax 3.0 costs 40 credits for one song and needs no subscription. This was the description:

A slow, tender soul ballad for our 25th wedding anniversary. Linda and Joe married in a rainy backyard, raised two kids, and still dance in the kitchen to the radio every Friday night. Warm female vocal, piano, strings and a gentle saxophone solo.

Listen for which details from the description made it into the lyrics.

25th-anniversary ballad · MiniMax 3.0 · Simple mode

The song runs 3:34.

Listening note: A warm female ballad over piano and strings that sings Linda and Joe by name, the rainy yard, the kids and the kitchen dancing. "Friday" never makes it into the lyrics, and the saxophone solo is missing. When a detail has to be in the song, switch MiniMax 3.0 to Custom mode and write that line into your own lyrics; for the saxophone, generate again or record it over the song in an audio editor.

How do I give the song as a gift?

  1. Shorten it if needed. The song menu's Clip options, such as Trim and Fade Out, cost 2 credits and save the result as a new song.
  2. Add your photos. To build a slideshow or video around the song, see how to turn an AI song into a music video.
  3. Put the words on screen. A lyric video costs 2 credits per minute of video, so your partner can read along the first time.
  4. Download the MP3 from the song's Download menu and play it at dinner, or send it with a message. If the song is for a party or a vow renewal, the wedding song guide covers first-dance songs.

How did we test?

Both examples were made on October 29, 2026. The duet was generated with Suno v6 in Custom mode with Duration on Auto, through the same music provider RaoMusic uses and with the settings in the steps above (30 credits for two takes on RaoMusic); the ballad was made on RaoMusic with MiniMax 3.0 in Simple mode (40 credits, one song). To compare tag styles, the same lyrics were also sent with tags written as [Verse 1, male vocals], with every line tagged, and with named singers in the style line: on Suno v6, 5 of 8 takes kept one solo verse each, against 2 of 12 on Suno v6 Wild, and naming the singers did worst on both models. Who sings each part was judged by an AI listening model, and lengths were measured from the files. The short listening note under a clip describes what that file sounds like; press play to judge for yourself. The full duet lyrics are below.

What lyrics did we use for the duet?

Title: "One Year". Style line: "duet vocals, male and female vocals, upbeat acoustic pop, ukulele, handclaps, harmonies on the chorus, warm and playful, 104 bpm".

[Verse 1: Male]

Spin cycle on a Tuesday night

My red sock turned your whole load pink

You laughed so hard you dropped your keys

And I forgot how to think

[Verse 2: Female]

Then I cooked you dinner, burnt the rice

The smoke alarm went off at eight

We ate cereal on the kitchen floor

Still our best first date

[Chorus: Both]

One year, one year, look how far we've come

From a pink load of laundry to a key for two

Burnt rice and a crossword every Sunday

Every single day I'd still choose you

[Bridge: Male]

Priya, you still steal the blanket

[Bridge: Female]

Sam, you still can't fold a sheet

[Bridge: Both]

But I'd fold the whole world for you

If you stay right here with me

[Final Chorus: Both]

One year, one year, look how far we've come

From a pink load of laundry to a key for two

Burnt rice and a crossword every Sunday

Every single day I'd still choose you
